“Tell Tale Heart” by Edgar Allen Poe, is a very overwhelming short story that has a very dark and “evil” plot. At the beginning of the story the narrator is trying to stay very calm in order to tell his story to the readers. The narrator in the short story plays the role of the murderer, and the murderer decided that one day he was going to take an old man’s life because of his “evil eye”. For seven days straight the murderer would creep into the old man’s bedroom and would watch him throughout the night. After the seven days, the murderer decides that he needs to kill the old man. The night of the murder, the murderer decides to do what he has been doing for the last seven nights. When the old man was fast asleep the murderer ended up killing him as he looked into the old man’s’ evil eye. When he killed him the neighbour reported something to the police, so at four am in the morning the cops showed up at the old man’s door. The narrator was scared so he hides the dead body under the floor so he would not get caught by the cops. The cops checked around the house and everything was good, after the cops left the murderer was feeling guilty and was hearing the heart beat of the old man in the house.
